This chocolate box property,originally a farmhouse, built in 17th century and extended in the early 19th century is a beautiful example of a traditional Lakeland residence, her 2 1/2 acres of gardens and fellside including croquet lawn blending effortlessly into the slopes of Loughrigg and displaying a wealth of ancient shrubs and flora, cleverly married with more formal patio, lawn areas and natural water fall. A short stroll directly under Loughrigg Fell will bring you to beautiful Rydal Water, one of Lakelands smallest lakes at only ¾ mile long and ¼ mile wide and a favourite of Wordsworth and many other of the romantic poets and still, to this day, magical, peaceful and most inspiring. Ambleside can also be reached on foot within 20 minutes along a country lane, this bustling village offering numerous attractions and activities for all ages with a wide choice of bars, shops and restaurants. Loughrigg Holme is obviously steeped in Lakeland history and exhibits many historic features with dated spice cupboard, flagged floors, exposed beams and original oak stairs and shutters.
