Accommodation overview: Wadham Cottage is a fine and charming Cotswold holiday cottage set very convenient for the the centre of this very popular village. The property is located within a traditional terrace of old worker cottages, which were originally called the 'Church Cottages'. Today the property, as you would expect with such history, including a strong association with Wadham College, Oxford, has many Cotswolds features including the classic beams that make the rooms so cosy. The cottage was updated in recent years and provides very comfortable accommodation for two or possibly four with a second bedroom on the top floor*. Of particular appeal is the fact that the attractions of Bourton on the Water are approximately 2 minutes walk away! ACCOMMODATIONEntrance to the property is through to kitchen. Although there is a 'front' door, entry to and from the cottage is better through the 'back' door.Kitchen, well equipped, with gas hob and gas oven/grill, microwave, fridge with freezer compartment plus a traditional Welsh dresser. There are washing facilities in the outhouse. There is a dining table with four chairs. There is a washing machine and tumble drier in the outhouse.Living Room, a quaint room overlooking Bourton High Street, with sofa, two armchairs TV with Free Sat (including ability to record progammes) and DVD player. There is also an electric fire. From this room are the stairs to the upper floors.First Floor (please note steep stairs)Main Bedroom with double bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers. This room overlooks the High Street. It is an ideal location for families with children or those wishing to be within very easy walking distance of village facilities and attractions. The cottage dates back 230 years and retains its beamed character and Cotswold stone fireplace, whilst being sympathetically modernised in recent years. Bourton on the Water is known as the Venice of the Cotswolds with small bridges crossing the River Windrush, making it a superb spot to sit, feed ducks and enjoy pub food or local cafes. Walking in the area is superb with many footpaths passing through attractive villages and along the rivers and streams; quarry lakes with lots of wildlife. The village boasts the well known Motor Museum (home of Brum), the Model Village, Birdland and Model Railway Exhibition. A superb location in all respects. (There are local buses running to Cheltenham, Stow on the Wold and Cirencester just 200 yards for the cottage. Needless to say many pretty villages such as Bibury, Lower Slaughter, Upper Slaughter, Blockley are all nearby. Oxford, Stratford upon Avon and Cheltenham are all nearby.

Moore Cottage is situated in a quiet position next to Moore House, just a two minute walk from the centre of Bourton-on-the-Water which stands on the river Windrush. Holidaymakers will have a very good choice of restaurants, pubs and shops, all within walking distance. There is also the Model Village, Motor Museum, Bird Sanctuary and Perfumery to visit. For the serious walkers there is a wide variety of choice in all directions through Upper Slaughter, Lower Slaughter, Upper Rissington and Lower Rissington.

Burford (the Gateway to the Cotswolds); Cirencester (most attractive market town since Roman times); Cheltenham (the Spa town with beautiful architecture and a racing history); Stratford-upon-Avon (the birth place of William Shakespeare); Chipping Norton and Chipping Campden (both Mediaeval market towns); and Broadway (a truly historic town with lovely shops and of course the Lygon Arms) are all within 15 miles. Please note that guest privacy will be respected at all times.

The house is absolutely perfectly located within one of the Cotswolds' most famous and most popular locations - Bourton on the Water. Internally the house is a good size with well proportioned rooms. Externally it is idyllically situated, next to the stream and one of the bridges in the village, off a very quiet square in the heart of Bourton. There is a good sized garden, which is enclosed, and which offers off street parking - a rare commodity in this village! Once the old village school, Windrush is a perfect holiday home for families looking to enjoy one of the Cotswolds most desirable holiday destinations. In our opinion, Windrush is a classic cottage which sits in a very desirable location making it good value for family get-togethers or a party of friends.
