Accommodation overview: A traditional 18th century Cumbrian cottage with beautiful panoramic views. Helton is a small picturesque village in this little known area of the Lake District, a perfect place to get away from it all, in tranquil surroundings. There are wonderful walks right from the cottage. Close by are Ullswater and Haweswater (home to Englands only Golden eagle) with excellent high level walking. Other nearby attractions & activities include the Lakeland Bird of Prey centre, Dalemain historic house & gardens, the Alpaca centre, Ullswater steamers, Aira Force waterfall, horse riding, mountain biking, fishing, sailing, windsurfing and canoeing. There are two delightful pubs and a village shop, a mile away, in the neighbouring village of Askham. The attractive market town of Penrith just 10 minutes drive.
